Mauro Boselli, Bruno Brindisi, Claudio Villa,
    Color Tex 1: The Happening (2011 - 164 pages)

Following the enthusiastic reaction of the readers aroused by the volumes of the saga texiana color with the newspaper La Repubblica and L'Espresso, Sergio Bonelli Editore presented Tex Color.
This new series will consist of paperback books that come out annually in Italian newsstands in August and will contain one long adventure of the most famous and colorful original character of the house Bonelli.
The first issue of this new magazine, released August 5, 2011, titled The Happening focuses on the figure of Kit Carson, that even when not physically present incumbent on the plot and it is the protagonist, and the relationship he has with Tex and atria pards.
Of this character is emphasized, thanks to a screenplay by Mauro Boselli which highlights the psyche of the main characters as well as secondary ones, as has happened a few other times in the adventures of Bonelli ranger, as well as a great love for the action, that made him appreciate and admire many generations of comic book fans, an unusual and very special human side.
Very interesting, both from the point of view of the chart plot, it is also the usual flashback that binds the story of the pards in the present to past events of the main characters that you see in the first twenty plates of the Register and you need to give the the story told.
Speaking of the authors who have contributed to this volume, leading practitioners of the publishing house in Milan and the best of the panorama of Italian comics can offer, we can say that the screenplay for Mauro Boselli made of quick texts and jokes effect is made to perfection by tract clean, dynamic and very detailed Bruno Brindisi.
This is complemented by a painted cover of more and more skilled Claudio Villa.
As for the coloring, the focal point of this new publication, it is essential, non-invasive, suitable for the type of header and, above all, to the character.
In my opinion, however, the criticism leveled by many enthusiasts and professionals are legitimate.
The use of color is in fact too simplistic and approximate.
It could and should work on the play of light and shadow and the many color effects that would have allowed a color less flat, making the story more enjoyable for longtime fans of the head and more attractive to occasional users of the character that thanks to these graphic devices would be more tempted to approach this pillar of Italian comics.
In the light of what is written we can therefore say without fear of contradiction, that this volume, very special in terms of patterns and screenplay, is a must read for all fans of Tex Willer but a missed opportunity by Bonelli to allow new readers, unfamiliar to comics in black and white, to become familiar with the character.
